Winners of the Fellowship Program on 2007, funded by National Endowment for DemocracyThe Institute of Public Affairs (ul. Szpitalna 5/22, 00-031 Warsaw, Poland) AND St. Petersburg Center for Humanities and Political Studies "STRATEGIA" (Izmailovskiy pr., 14, St. Petersburg, 190005 Russian Federation)
are informing that at May, 18 in St.Petersburg was held the meeting with applicants for second round selection nominants on the Fellowship Program on 2007, funded by National Endowment for Democracy (USA).
There were arrived 22 applications for participation in the Program, 12 were selectred to the second round. Experts team of Justyna Frelak, Piotr Kazmierkiewicz and Tatiana Barandova after negotioations with applicants (3 by phone) had chosen the follwing to nominate:
1. Anikina Maria (Moscow)with suggested project "Catholics in Russia and Orthodox in Poland: comparative study on the State-Church relations and the analysis of the situation of religious minorities in both countries"
2. Khramtsova Liliya (Novosibirsk)with the topic of project: "Enhancing public participation in the decision making process through think-tank establishment"
3. Maslov Dmitry (Ivanovo), project title: "Effective Public Service (EPUS): an Effectiveness Assessment System for Public Administrations in Russia"
4. Spitsyn Roman (Ryazan)with the project: "Role of a civil society in postcommunist transit: lessons of Poland"
5. Stepanova Elena (St.Petersburg) and the project: "Participation of nongovernmental organizations in protecting the right to medical treatment of drug-addicted people: lessons from Poland"
6. Tarasenko Anna (St.Petersburg)with the suggested project research: "Consultative bodies in Russian regions: a new kind of platform for public debate?"
Geography of all applicants in 2007 - by 2 applications we have got from Moscow and Yaroslavl, 4 from St.Petersburg, and by 1 from the following regions: Makhachkala, Nalchik, Belgorod, Yalutorovsk (Tumen Region), Saratov, Ryazan, Samara, УUlianovsk, Ivanovo, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Petrozavodsk, Ekaterinburg. One application arrived from Sevastopol in Ukraine.
